If you will, take a wild guess: How many affiliate marketing secret there is out there? Whatever your answer is, you’re right simply because there’s no absolute answer. Like they say, my guess is as good as yours.
What prompt me to ask this?
Every once in while, there are some new development come around. Well, maybe they’re not entirely new. Some are just an improved version of the previous ones but they are newsworthy anyway. One of them is the secrets of affiliate marketing by Andrew Fox.
If you were an avid Affiliate Marketer, you’ve probably received a dozen of emails or more promoting Andrew Fox Affiliate Project X. When you see the ‘X’ at the end of anything, you can immediately tell that it implies something secret.
In this case (maybe) it’s something to do with being an affiliate marketer secrets or maybe not. Who knows…
This is one thing. Another one got something to do with John Reese.
The Traffic Secrets maestro himself had decided to ‘reverse’ his decision about promoting other peoples product i.e. affiliate marketing. If you recalled, when Reese was in the process of creating his Income.com project, he claimed that he will no longer wanting to earn from recommending someone else product. If he ever recommends a product, it’s purely done to benefit the end users.
He won’t take any cut from it.
And that was slightly less than a year ago. A few days back, he said that he’s reversing his decision because (this is what I concluded):
1. A few testimonials from his fans that made him ‘rethink’ his decision (I wonder why only now).
2. His self-justification that he only shares and recommends top-notch products of others.
He closed his mail message with ‘you can consider me as an affiliate marketer once again’ and I sense something is building up. Another secret of affiliate marketing maybe?
I know that I’ve put ‘how to profit with resale rights and affiliates’ as my motto but it’s also clear that I pay less attention to affiliate marketing than I did to resale rights and I have my reasons for that.
But affiliate marketing used to be my top passion when I first step my foot online and it was how I earn my first online income and I can tell you that what I did back then was nothing different than what it takes to earn from an affiliate program today.
In other words, I’m telling you that there’s NO secret.
What you need to know to succeed as an affiliate marketer has been laid out but the big question is: Did you take ACTION?
It’s my believe that what creates the difference between Andrew Fox, John Reese, you and me is not the amount of knowledge or skills that each one possess but the amount of ‘targeted’ action that one takes.
