Take a look at my big why for money making goal next year. I am driving a different brand of vehicle in 2009, and it is not too shabby either (Toyota Camry 2.0G), and it just reaches it first birthday on December 17th, but I already set my eyes on something better.
At least I thought it is better.
And if you are a big fan of Tony Robbin motivation (which I know some of you found this blog for that phrase) this is one of those ‘toy’ goal. Tony outlined 5 or 6 categories of goals for example personal, toy and adventure, financial, career, and contribution goal. But this particular goal of owning a Murano lack a criterion – this is not my short one year goal.
I just post it here to tell you what possible when you set your eye on money making.
What is your ‘toy goal’ for next year? But first – did you achieve your goals in 2009? If you did, congrats! If you did not, why haven’t you?
I admit that I did not achieve all my goals I have set for last year.
For example, I have set a financial goal to be able to generate 100 dollars or more on line per day. I am behind in that regards but I am not throwing in the towels just yet. I knew what I did wrong and this year I am going to change the game plan. I am expecting a different result from that also.
I believe you have heard countless times Einstein definition of insanity “doing the same thing over and over again, and expect different result”. I am definitely thinking out of the box now.
And I know I would not go wrong by doing what is right!
Let me share with you one of the BIG blunders I discover in 2009. In fact, you are looking at it – this website or blog.
What is wrong?
First, the URL i.e. the domain name. When I register the domain, my idea is to make money with ‘local’ affiliate program. I have bought into the idea that the best, fastest way, to start with a good recurring income source is by becoming an affiliate. Boy, how I struggle to get a single decent affiliate program to promote within those years. And all I heard was this ‘great’ advice – find a profitable niche.
Do you even know what a profitable niche looks like? I bet if you are not making as much money online, you have no idea what that means. Until today, I have quite clear idea on it but I still got a lot to do before I reach my target income goal. That is probably the sin of my second mistake.
My second mistake is my monetization model.
I told you that I choose affiliate program to make money online. But since I had vague idea about the niche I suppose to milk, that model is a bomber at its best. The more I work in it, more frustrated I become, and more mistakes I commit. Why? Because I am desperate to hear the cash register ‘kaching! kaching!’.
Put yourself in my shoes – wouldn’t you be desperate too?
But now I knew better. And you probably already see the changes I made here. The monetization model is obvious (I hope), and I am targeting a ‘specific group’ of people. Next year is going to be the best year for me to achieve my goal for money making.
