It has proven time and again that it delivers.
You see, I am a big believer in making changes to get different results. But when it comes to finding the guide to map out my plan, I often go back to my personal library. That picture you see is just one shelf of 6 shelves – 2 sets of cabinets that I have at home!
And I have been collecting books from secondary school.
I came from a fishing village. My dad served the Government all his working life and he retired 5 years ago. My late mother, she handled the ‘domestic affair’ all her life. And if you know the condition of my village folk, in Beserah, you know that English and higher education are not the strong point.
But I was determined.
My Auntie, my mother’s elder sister, took me to live with her and Granny, and since she teaches at the kindergarten, she taught me well. She bought me this neat ‘pictionary’ and since then I missed my friend, the river, my fishing rod, and more, and I was glued to the book pages.
And then some more pages. It keeps growing after that. It has never stop even until today. I can verify that with my Inland Revenue Board tax relief I got every year. A wise guy once said, “Show me a leader and I show you a reader.”
After I knew the World Wide Web, my appetite grew beyond description.
I have more resources I ever imagine to try to satisfy my ‘hunger’. And you know what, I read somewhere, “Reading make a good man but writing make a complete man.” I do more than just read now. Have I become a complete man? ‘Become’ is not quite the right word yet but I am ‘becoming.’
The best thing about writing on the Internet is; I could also ‘get paid’ for what I know and write about. And I am taking it seriously. I have a money making goal for writing online bringing the income that can replace my current ‘monthly income’ but I know it is not that easy.
It is not easy but possible!
How do I know that such idea is possible? I got my loyal companions who have been with me all this while telling me so. When I feel down, I got Tony and Zig firing me up. When I am lost for ideas, I turn to Edward De Bono, and I sure have my light-bulb lighting over my head. When I need marketing ideas, I had Kotler, Seth, and some local names to my rescue. I believe I never run out of ideas or inspiration at this pace.
And I have not even begun with the online folks yet!
In short, I know many people like to replace what they earned off line with some legit income online. And they start with monetization model like affiliate program, Adsense, membership site, and MLM. But in my humble opinion, the place to start is actually in their head – their mindset. That is when those valuable resources to making money comes in.
